Ventisqueros – sustainable aquaculture

With Ventisqueros, the Schörghuber Corporate Group seeks some answers to one of the most glaring questions of mankind. How can the population of the world be provided with sustainable, affordable food? One way to tackle this problem could be sustainable fish farming.

The Seafood business division has its origin in the Schörghuber family's private business ventures in Chile. Those include the company Productos del Mar Ventisqueros, which was founded in 1989 and is involved in salmon farming. The Schörghuber family acquired a 51-percent share in the company in 2001 and in 2010 became sole owner. Today, the company is one of Chile's top ten salmon producers.

Ventisqueros concentrates primarily on the farming and selling of Atlantic salmon and Pacific salmon (Coho). The company is well aware of its responsibility to consumers, customers and service providers, animals and the environment in this context. As a member of the Global Salmon Initiative (GSI), Ventisqueros is committed to sustainable salmon farming.

With Ventisqueros, Schörghuber stays true to its commitment. Respecting tradition but focusing on the future.
